Identifying true targets in oncology
Jan-Jaap Verhoef
Imuno is pioneering the power of machine learning to build a structure-based discovery engine to identify cancer-specific epitopes that can be exploited by novel therapeutic strategies. Our discovery engine not only identifies epitopes that are 100% unique to a patient’s tumor, it selects those have the best properties for therapeutic targeting.
AI as a service for bioscience and drug research
Erwin Haas
Landscape is a Dutch data science company that believes we can build an awesome and positive future with data and AI, when we focus on value (for humans), don’t over- or underestimate it and keep it responsible and explainable. They do data science projects, build AI-solutions and give workshops for multiple sectors, with an increasing focus on Bioscience, where there is a lot of potential for machine learning given the amount of data. This potential is what we’ll be going into today.
Social Robots
Joost Broekens
Joost Broekens studies Artificial Intelligence, in particular Affective Computing and the interaction between humans and socially interactive agents. He is the President Elect of the Association for the Advancement of Affective Computing (AAAC), which is the main international organisation in his research field. He is an assistant professor and head of the Affective Computing and Human Robot Interaction group at the Leiden Institute of Advanced Computer Science (LIACS) of Leiden University. Finally, he is also co-founder and CTO of Interactive Robotics, enabling students from any age to learn with and from social robots.
